Research Assistant Position at the Neurobiology of Language Learning Lab, CUHK
The Neurobiology of Language Learning Lab, Department of Linguistics and Modern Languages, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), is now inviting applications for the position of Research Assistant (RA) to join an interdisciplinary project on language learning and children development. The project aims to explore the developmental trajectory of language learning in children aged 4-12 years.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
The appointees will be responsible mainly for the following:
- Assist with data collection for children and adults;
- Provide clear verbal instructions and adapt communication to participants’ comprehension levels;
- Help with pre-experiment preparations (e.g., equipment setup, organizing experimental materials);
- Conduct data organization and entry;
- Perform quantitative and/or qualitative data analysis;
- Assist with daily laboratory tasks; and
- Provide other research-related assistance.
Requirements
Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:
- Native speaker of Cantonese;
- A Bachelor’s degree or above in Psychology, Education Psychology, or Linguistics;
- Experience with data collection and analysis is preferred;
- Prior experience in research projects involving children would be an advantage;
- Good command of written and spoken English;
- Have a strong sense of responsibility and self-motivation;
- Able to work independently and effectively in a highly collaborative environment; and
- Good coordination, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Compensation and Benefits
- Initial appointment: 6–12 months, renewable subject to performance and project needs;
- Salary will follow CUHK’s standard scale, with appropriate benefits;
- Monthly salary: approximately HKD 14,000–18,000, depending on qualifications and experience;
- Work location: The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shatin campus;
- Start date: Flexible (earlier availability preferred).

- 具备良好的协调、解决问题、沟通及人际交往能力。
薪酬与福利
- 聘期初定为6–12个月，可视表现与项目进展续聘；
- 薪酬依照香港中文大学标准发放，并提供相应福利；
- 月薪：约港币14,000元至18,000元（视学历与经验而定）；
- 工作地点：香港中文大学本部（沙田）；
- 入职日期：可灵活安排（能较早入职者优先考虑）。
